TwoPoints.Net —Barcelona, Berlin

Quaderns is the magazine of the Catalan Association of Architects. It was founded in 1944 and over the years has received international recognition. Every two years a new team is elected, consisting of a director, three editors and a design team. In December 2010 it was again time to announce a public competition. As in any year before, that many good teams competed.

Aamodt/Plumb Architects asked Constructing Communications —a collaboration of TwoPoints.Net with Irene Hwang— to design a pattern for the façade of the Hamptons Beach House, New York, USA. The pattern should make a reference to the vegetation the house is surrounded by. TwoPoints.Net drew a vector-based calligraphic, floral pattern which was cut-out in thick steel panels.

Constructing Communication (CC) was founded in 2009 by TwoPoints.Net (Barcelona) and Irene Hwang (New York). They teamed up to offer verbal and visual communication to the architectural world.

Verb Crisis examines architectural solutions to the extraordinary conditions of an increasingly dense and interdependent world. It presents innovative projects and research through original photos, essays, and exclusive interviews with key figures from architecture and urban planning to environmental, economic, and global affairs.
